This tour has something for everyone. If you’ve never been to Berlin before, this leisurely cycle is a great way to explore the city. And if you’re a Berlin veteran, you’ll be impressed at how much our experienced guides have to add.

The story of Berlin is complex, and this tour offers a great starting point to break down all of the information.

Beginning with the city’s humble origins as a fishing village on the river Spree, your guide will take you through Berlin’s evolution. We will go into detail about the city from its time as the capital of Prussia and its role in the creation of the German Empire to its place at the heart of the Cold War and the vibrant center of reunited Germany.

We will show you the Reichstag and discuss the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. You’ll see Checkpoint Charlie and one of the only remaining sections of the Berlin Wall as we take you through the foundations of the Cold War. Finally, we will stop at the iconic Brandenburg Gate and picturesque Museum Island before returning to our shop, located conveniently under the TV Tower, Berlin’s spire.

Along the way, you will have plenty of time to get to know your guide, your group, take pictures and ask questions about how best to take advantage of everything that Berlin has to offer. The half-day nature of the tour leaves you with plenty of time to explore on your own, and our guides are happy to point you to the best currywurst, museum, dance club, or German beer.

As with all of our other tours, our Berlin Highlights Bike Tour travels at an easy pace on our comfortable city-cruiser style bicycles. It’s comprehensive and fun, and our guides make sure you have a great time.

East to West Berlin Wall Guided Bike Tour: Dive into Berlin’s Cold War History

Discover the story of Berlin like never before on the East to West Berlin Wall Guided Bike Tour, a full-day adventure that takes you beyond the usual sights and into the heart of the city’s Cold War history. Ride along the route of the Berlin Wall and explore the stark contrasts between East and West Berlin—differences that linger to this day.

Your journey begins with the origins of the Cold War, from the ideological divide between East and West to pivotal events like the Berlin Airlift, the division of Germany, and the construction of the Berlin Wall. Along the way, you’ll visit the East Side Gallery, the longest remaining stretch of the Wall, and an authentic East German Guard Tower, offering a glimpse into the chilling realities of life on the border.

Pedal your way to the Soviet War Memorial at Treptower Park, an awe-inspiring reminder of World War II’s legacy, and continue to Tempelhof Airport, a key site of the Berlin Airlift. As you ride, your expert guide will bring history to life with stories of espionage, ghost stations, daring escape attempts, and the human impact of Berlin’s division.
