What’s on at UK Theme Parks for Halloween 2014?

Halloween is nearly upon us and there are tons of fun activities and events happening at theme parks and attractions around the UK to mark this spooky occasion!

Starting to plan how you and your family are going to celebrate this year? Here’s a quick summary of the Halloween attractions on offer this autumn…

Scarefest at Alton Towers returns for another year! During the day there’ll be plenty of spooky attractions the whole family can enjoy, with rides staying open until 9pm so you’ll be able to experience them in the dark!

Scarefest at Alton Towers will run from 18th October to 3rd November.

‘Brick or Treat’ at LEGOLAND Windsor

The popular ‘Brick or Treat’ event is back at LEGOLAND Windsor!

Little ones will love the special Halloween Puppet show, while older kids will not want to miss a visit to the forest of 5,000 pumpkins. Don’t forget to dress up for the occasion as there’ll be a daily fancy dress competition, judged by Orange Brick!

’Brick or Treat’ at LEGOLAND Windsor will run from the 18th October until 3rd November

Howl’o’Ween at Chessington World of Adventures

Kids will love ‘Howl’o’ween’ this half-term at Chessington World of Adventures’. Ride in the dark and experience a host of other spine-tingling events at the Zoo and SEA LIFE Centre which will be open until 8pm daily.

Howl’o’ween at Chessington World of Adventures will run from the 24th October until 2nd November.

Fright Nights at Thorpe Park

Get ready to experience a horror movie takeover with Fright Nights* at Thorpe Park Resort!

The Park will be open for a full 12 hours – that’s half a day to experience its thrilling rides and terrifying horror mazes! Get ready for attractions based on iconic Lionsgate films, including the Blair Witch Project, My Bloody Valentine, SAW and the Cabin in the Woods.

Fright Nights at Thorpe Park will run on the following dates:

  • 10th – 12th October
  • 17th – 19th October
  • 24th October – 2nd November

*Please note you will need a special ‘Fright Night’ entry ticket to attend this event. This event may be too intense for young children and is recommended for ages 13 and over.

Halloween Spooktacular at Cadbury World

A Halloween Spooktacular arrives at Cadbury World this October half-term. Dress in your spookiest costume to take part in their fancy dress competition and make sure you visit the World’s biggest Cadbury to stock up on a range of scary treats!

The live singing competition The Scream Factor will also return, where you’ll see Franky Frankenstein, The Vamp, and Witchy Woo Woo battle it out to impress the judges Larry Walsh and Simon Howl.

You can experience the Halloween Spooktacular at Cadbury World from the 25th October to 2nd November.

The Haunted Castle at Warwick Castle

Visit Warwick Castle during the day this Halloween and you’ll find a whole host of shows and displays the whole family can enjoy! These include:

  • The Duelling Dead Fighting Swordsmen
  • Raising the Portcullis
  • Flight of the Eagles Show (twice daily)
  • Sword in the Stone
  • History tours of State Rooms and Great Hall
  • Warwick Castle Unlocked
  • The Castle Dungeon and Merlin: The Dragon Tower (fees apply)

You may also spot the Headless Horseman, Plague Doctors and other live actors roaming the Castle grounds throughout your visit.

After dark comes a horrifying treat for adults, with the castle staying open until 9pm. Don’t miss the fireball finale at 8.30pm!

The Haunted Castle will run from 25th October until 2nd November.

The London Bridge Experience

Not one but TWO exciting Halloween events are on offer at the London Bridge Experience this Halloween.

Phobophobia** promises to be the “Ultimate Halloween night out for the sickest souls,” while if you’re looking for something a little more family friendly, the London Bridge Experience Halloween Show promises just that… with a twist!

The Halloween Show will operate at The London Bridge Experience from 1st October until the 3rd November. Phobophobia will run from 25th October until the 1st November. **Please note entrance to Phobophobia is charged at an extra £24 per person, payable at the London Bridge Experience.
