We’re here to Let It Go, Let It Go, (we) can’t hold it back anymore!
Ever since Disney’s snowy franchise descended upon our screens, Frozen fever has been a feature of many children’s lives, while the characters responsible for this – Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven – have become animated icons.
Having made more than $2.7 billion dollars at worldwide box office and seen the success of current Frozen attractions, there’s no surprise Disney is capitalising on the nations love for Frozen by creating an entire land dedicated to the franchise at Disneyland Paris.
It’s been a few months since we first heard the news that Frozen land would be coming to Disneyland Paris, but details have been sparse. That was, until Disney gave us a sneak peek of the fully-immersive land thanks to the concept art it released last week.
The Frozen-themed attraction appears to be a sensational trip into the world of Arendelle, fit with Elsa’s Palace and icy mountains surrounding a 7.5-acre lake to recreate the kingdom’s breath-taking fjord. It won’t just be there to look pretty: attending guests will have access to live performances and interactive water-based shows with seats offering 360-degree views.
Meanwhile, OutsidEars, a Twitter account that describes itself as ‘unofficial media for Disneyland Paris’, wrote: ‘Known today as Frozen land, this new area will consist of an aquatic attraction, sister of the one under construction in Hong Kong Disneyland, two shops as well as a restaurant and a meeting place with two queens of Arendelle.’
The expansion plan looks to be huge and will also feature a replica of the Frozen Ever After attraction currently open at Epcot at Walt Disney World in the Norway Pavilion. As well as the interactive shows and experiences, a further two shops will be opening, both of which we imagine will be packed with Frozen-themed toys and souvenirs.
But don’t pack your bags just yet, Frozen land isn’t expected to be open until at least 2023. Though no need to worry if you can’t wait that long for your Frozen fix, there’s already plenty on offer at Disneyland Paris. In fact, the Frozen Celebration is happening right now, combining live entertainment, interactive shows, food & drink and of course, the chance to meet Olaf. To book, visit our Disneyland Paris page.
