Dubai is hot. If there’s one thing everyone knows about Dubai is that it is HOT. And the first thing we recommend you do is to cool yourself down by jumping straight into Aquaventure in Atlantis, The Palm. We’ve bundled together a tip list based on our recent visit so that if it’s on your radar, you will get the absolute most out of your day!
1. Arrive At 10am
The park opens at 10 and a lot of people will still be in bed, eating breakfast or just getting ready. If you can get the jump on them all and get there when it opens, you’ll beat a lot of queues! And it’s not like it’s going to cold or anything at 10am!
2.…and go straight to Leap Of Faith!
Leap Of Faith is one of the most popular rides in the park, and for good reason! The near-vertical waterslide drops you 9 storeys in a couple of seconds, and queues for this slide can be expected. But get there first thing and you’ll be on it in no time!
3. Grab Your Own Tube
Get yourself a tube from Torrent Beach and take it to the Tower of Neptune. You’ll need it to go up each waterslide. Shark Attack and Surge are arguably the best so get up there pronto!
4. You can take your phone on the slides
Surely this is crazy and risky? Well, no! You can get a waterproof pouch to put your smartphone in, hang it round a lanyard and take it on the rides. Useful if you’ve not got a locker or spare space for everything!
5. Rent A GoPro!
They have GoPros for hire at Aquaventure, straight after the main entrance. It welcomes bringing your own, but if you decide you fancy one on the day, they’re right there!
6. Load Money Onto Your Wristband
At the towel huts, you can get yourself a wristband, and deposit cash onto it. This saves you leaving money lying around while you’re on the rides, and allows you to spend throughout the park at the tap of a wrist. Any money you don’t spend will get refunded.
7. You can hire a towel
You can bring a towel in, but if you forget, you can hire one for 30 AED (around £60 at the time of writing). If you want to save a couple of quid, you can get a towel and a locker combo for 50 AED rather than 70.
8. Hop on a buggy to get around
Aquaventure has its own mini-transport system, with buggies looping around the park all day. Just hop on and off as you go about to save you walking around in the intense heat.
9. Feed sharks
If a waterpark isn’t thrill enough for you, there are optional extras for an additional fee. Zip lining, shark feeding and scuba diving are all available!
I want tickets!
We sell tickets! What a lucky turn of events! Book your Aquaventure Dubai tickets now! It never normally drops below 20˚C in winter, so you’ll be toasty whenever you go!
One more thing…
You won’t be able to buy tickets for Aquaventure from AttractionTix (or anyone) between 3-24 June 2017. Tower of Neptune, and the slides within it, are undergoing maintenance so there won’t be a whole lot to do! But after June, it’ll be even more amazing.
