There’s some exciting news for Marvel and Disney fans. An all-new themed area, Avengers Campus, has been announced for Disneyland California, alongside a host of other Marvel-related updates for Disney Parks around the world, including Disneyland Paris.
The information comes straight out of the official Disney D23 Expo, which is running from 23rd – 25th August 2019. Stay tuned for more information from the Expo as it comes in.
Disneyland California
The ‘immersive super hero-themed land’, Avengers Campus, will open in 2020 and be centred around the Marvel Cinematic Universe . The land will replace A Bug’s Land, which closed in September 2018, enabling the new area to sit alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout ride.
All that has been confirmed so far is a Spiderman attraction, based on a ‘global initiative’ from Tony Stark himself, known as the Worldwide Engineering Brigade. The interactive experience will allow guests to ‘experience for themselves what it is like to have the abilities of a Super Hero.’
There will also be a merchandise store, as well as character meet & greets throughout the land.
Disneyland Paris
There are two confirmed Marvel-themed updates coming to Disneyland Paris in 2020. The first is a new ‘hyper-kinetic adventure’ starring Iron Man. It is likely to be an updated roller-coaster, which will sit in Walt Disney Studios Park and feature a cast of Avengers characters including Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Captain America.
Disney’s Hotel New York will be given an Avengers update too, with a new theme to reflect the MCU style. Both of these changes will arrive in 2020.
