Make the most of your time in Iceland – experience two of the most popular Reykjavik tours in one day! Take a sightseeing tour of the city in the morning and explore the amazing scenery along the Golden Circle route in the afternoon.
The Reykjavik sightseeing tour kicks off with a visit to the historic Höfði house – the place where Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev met in 1986 at the all-important summit between USA and USSR.
Next, you’ll take a short ride to the old city harbour where you’ll see Harpa concert hall & conference centre. Keep your cameras at the ready – in 2013, the building’s unique design won the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award for Contemporary Architecture.
Take a walk from City Hall to the Parliament building and stop for a photoshoot at the Austurvöllur Park, in front of the Parliament.
Enter Hallgrímskirkja church – the largest church in Iceland and one of the country‘s tallest buildings. While you’re there, don’t miss your chance to snap the perfect panoramic shot of Reykajavik from the 360° viewing platform of the Perlan glass dome.
Finally, end your tour with a visit to Bessastaðir – the official residence of the President of Iceland.
Already seen so much and so much more to go… A well-deserved break is in order! Take a breather in the Reykjavik city centre before you head off to your Golden Circle Express tour. This is the perfect time to grab a bite to eat.
Recharged and ready to continue your Icelandic adventure? Follow the Golden Circle Express trail and visit the National Park Þingvellir – a UNESCO heritage site and the legendary birthplace of the Icelandic Parliament.
Go to the place where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia split and see the glorious Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. Then, hear the roar of the 32-metre Gullfoss glacial waterfall.
At the end of the day, you’ll be dropped off in front of your Reykjavik hotel where you and your friends can spend the night discussing the many impressions gathered on your trip.
Pick-ups from several Reykjavik hotels and guesthouses have been affected by new restrictions imposed by Reykjavík City Council.
