Located at the World Trade Center in New York City, the 9/11 Memorial Museum tells the story of 9/11 through media, narratives, and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts, presenting visitors with personal stories of loss, recovery, and hope.
As a monument to human dignity, courage, and sacrifice, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum honours the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993, recognises the courage of those who survived, and salutes those who risked their lives to help others.
The Museum tells the story of 9/11 through artifacts, imagery, personal stories, and interactive technology. Learn about the core exhibitions, special exhibitions, and rotating galleries in the Museum’s 110,000 square feet of space.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum’s permanent collection is an unparalleled repository consisting of material evidence, first-person testimony, and historical records of response to February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001 and the ongoing repercussions of these terrorist events. To date, the Museum has acquired more than 74,000 artifacts that document the fate of victims, survivors, and responders.
The Museum is open Wednesday through Monday, plus select Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are several accessible entrances to the Memorial.
Entrances and public areas in the Museum, including the exhibitions and the Museum Store, are wheelchair accessible. Inside, wherever there are stairs, lifts and escalators are available. There’s a ramp that leads to the overlook, just past the Information Desk in the Concourse Lobby and all public toilets have wheelchair-accessible stalls.
Service animals and wheelchairs, scooters, other power-driven mobility devices, walkers, and push chairs are welcome in the memorial and museum.
This experience can be cancelled up to 72 hours prior to the ticket activation date.
Pre-booked tickets are usually cheaper than at the entrance
